Dale A. Tiessen, MSc, MBA
Dale’s career has provided a unique array of expertise, learning and skill development. His experience spans from employee #1 in a start-up venture to leader of a Canadian business unit for a multi-national company. He is a seasoned salesperson, having ‘carried a bag’ for many years. He knows and understands the selling process, including the psychology of sales as well as commercial operations. He approaches marketing as a strategic function and growth enabler for business. And he has developed and led large sales teams.
Dale’s academic background is based in sports science and medicine. He received a MSc from the University of British Columbia. During his tenure at UBC, he worked contractually for Nike designing and testing shoes. More recently, Dale returned to UBC to complete a MBA, complementing his real world business experience.
Dale continues to be active in the entrepreneurial scene in Vancouver BC, acting as a Mentor for the 'entrepreneurs @UBC’ program. He is also an Executive in Residence with Foresight Cleantech Incubator. Previously, Dale was a Canadian advisory board member of RecapHealth Ventures. He has also served as a Board Member for Alzheimer’s Society of BC and Board Advisor for Isotopes in Science and Medicine at TRIUMF Particle Accelerator.
Joelle Tiessen, B. Design
Joelle brings a unique mix of creative and analytical thinking to each endeavour. Trained in creative thinking and graphic design from a leading international art school, Joelle can lead clients through an end to end creative process for branding and marketing. Combined with her project management skills, these provide the foundation to both build strong marketing programs and deliver them on time and on budget for clients.
Her career spans multiple industries, in business sizes from start-up to national, and in both B2B and B2C markets. She has direct experience in real estate, finance, insurance, tourism, manufacturing, ad agencies, and not-for-profit.
